私たち夫婦は夫実家の近くに住んでおり、義両親と関わる事が多いです。
多いと言うか、特に義母の絡みが結構酷く、俗に言う「いびり」にあってました。
義実家の掃除に来い、とか、近所の友人が集まるから茶や菓子の支度・給仕をしろとか。
私が日中仕事に出ていると知っての上です。
夫にそれとなく言っても流されるだけで、鬱々と過ごしていました。
先月、義母の誕生日という事で私たち夫婦含む親戚と近所の友人とやらが
集まる機会がありました。
案の定、食事他全ての手配を私一人に押し付け、且つ開催は日曜で休みでしょと先手も。
半ば諦めで前日夜遅くまで準備に費やしました。
当日、集まってくる客人相手に一人でてんやわんやしてると、最後に到着した
夫の兄から「あれ、私さん一人でやってんの？」と聞かれ、
返事に詰まって「えぇ･･･まあ･･･」とその場は濁しました。
義兄は遠方に一人で住んでおり、両親の土地財産の管理運用を一手に引き受け、
詳しくは知りませんが法律関係の仕事で活躍されていると伺ってました。
直接会って話す機会は今までもそう多くはなかったですが、すごくしっかりした印象がありました。
「まあ、いつもの事ですから」とうっかり言ってしまった。
途端、義兄の目つきが鋭くなり、「どういう事？」と詰問され、とうとう話してしまいました。
最初は気を悪くするかなと思ってましたが、話してるうちに助けて欲しいと言う気持ちが前に出てました。
全てを話し終えると「･･･分かりました。本当に面目ない」と私に深々と頭を下げ、
「正式な謝罪は後ほど。後は俺に任せて下さい」と早々に居間に突撃。
義両親他が騒いでる所に荒々しく乗り込み、跳ね上がるかという勢いでテーブルを叩き、
「お袋！私さんをあんな目に合わすとはどういう了見だ！？」
静まり返る居間に義兄の怒声がまだまだ響きます。
「全部聞いたぞ！何の恨みがあって私さんに辛く当たる！？
まさか、嫁いできた人は女中か召使とでも思ってんじゃねえだろうな！？」
我に返った義母は「いやそれは」と弁解しようとするも
「言い訳が通用する段階じゃねえだろうが！自分がどんだけ醜くみっともない真似してたのか分かってんのか？
親父！この二人が不甲斐無いのはまだしも、なんで親父まで黙ってんだよ！
おい弟！てめえ、自分の嫁さん一人満足に守れないでいっぱしに結婚なんかしてんじゃねーぞ！？
お前ら何か勘違いしてねえか？私さんを何だと思ってんだ？こんな連中が家族で俺は恥ずかしいよ！」
義兄は私に土下座して「本当に申し訳ない！あの日、貴方を家族として向かい入れたはずなのに、こんな事になっているとは」
と頭を床に押し付けるので、私は泣きながらやめてください、やめてくださいと言う他ありませんでした。
「有難うございます。義兄さんの気持ちで充分です」と何とか義兄を起こすと、
「俺の気持ち程度で釣り合いが取れる筈がありません。金銭も含めた正式な謝罪をさせて下さい」との事。
ここで義母が「ちょ、お金ってそれ･･･」と言おうとするも
「まだ恥ずかしい事をほざくつもりか！？全然反省してない様子だな。俺は一銭も手をつけちゃいないが、それでも二人の生活の
大部分は俺次第というのを忘れるな」
義母は何も言えずまた俯き、私もこの時の義兄の迫力というか、鬼気迫るものに圧倒されました。
「どうでしょう、私さん。こんな事になって、弟と一緒に居るのも気まずいようでしたら、一度ご実家に戻られても結構です。
この3人には、まず猛省を促してから改めて貴女に謝罪に伺わせます。その後は貴女のお気持ち次第です。
お恥ずかしい限りですが、こんな連中と家族を続けられないようでしたら、俺は貴女の今後を全力で支援させて頂きます」
私もこの段階でかなり混乱してしまい、一旦実家に戻る事にしました。
翌日、夫と義父が私実家に訪れ、私と母親（父は他界）の前で土下座、謝罪に訪れ、その誠意に免じて
一緒に戻りました。
義母からは「･･･悪かったわね」と電話で一言だけ、それもガチャ切りでしたが、以来無茶ないびりはなくなりました。
義兄に戻った事を伝えると、「･･･有難う。あんな頼りないヤツでも俺のたった一人の弟なんです。どうか宜しく御願いします」
今では落ち着いて、平和に暮らせています。

そうしておいて当然の顔をして「そちらの行員の不始末ですから」

じぇいえいさんは、普通の銀行や信金に勤めている人から見たら、
何で？どうして？！どうやって？！これでいいの？！な処理たっくさんあるから
地元の付き合いとかそういうので、しょうがなくって場合以外はやめたほういい。
保険もダメ。事故った時の対応が糞すぎな上に、相手の保険会社に言いくるめられて
ほんっと使えなかった。

義兄が借金とか清算しか、親が破産してお金自由に使えないとかかね。
あとは遺言でだらしない親飛び越して相続したとか。
ともかくこの義兄が実家の金握ってるんだから最大権力者なのは間違いない。
